History of Growth

1943 Stone Industrial Corporation
S.W. Briggs & W.A. Brazerol developed pleated paper filter cartridges to replace waste cotton sock type filters used in diesel locomotives
1949 Stone Filter Co. Created as a subsidiary of S.I.C. to supply EMD and a few railroads
1971 J.L. Clark Manufacturing Co. Purchased S.I.C. (College Park, MD)
1974 Stone Filter Subsidiary Moved to Lancaster, PA (present location) and was named Paper Products Division of J.L. Clark
1987 J.L. Clark Manufacturing Co. renamed CLARCOR, Paper Products Division renamed Clark Filter
1992 CLARCOR acquired the assets of M & J Diesel Locomotive Filter Co. (Chicago) and moved them to Lancaster to expand Clark Filter
1993 CLARCOR acquired Guardian/United Engine Life Filtration Co. (Louisville, KY) and transferred all lube & fuel filter production and sales to Clark Filter
1994 Moved railroad air filtration poducts from U.E.L. to Lancaster to expand Clark Filter
1995 Moved all roll-pack (sock type) production and sales from U.E.L. to Clark Filter
1996 Airguard and Clark set-up fiberglass "baggie" line to supply Engine Guard air intake filters for railroads worldwide
1997 Baldwin helped FIBAMEX and Clark establish Mexico City production to serve the Mexican railroads
2000 Moved Locomotive Baggies air filter production to Lancaster, PA. This state of the art production system makes the Clark product second to none in the industry.
2001 Initiated Panel Filter production
2002 Moved all roll-pack (sock type) production and sales to FIBAMEX (Mexico City)
2002 Moved Dust Collector Cartridge production from Airguard (Louisville, KY) to Clark Filter
